Who are the 2023-2024 State Legislators and How Can I Contact Them?

 The Hawaii State Legislature is made of up of 76 elected officials.  25 are State Senators and 51 are State Representatives.

 

Where Can I Get Copies of Bills?

The Hawaii State Legislative website has up to date copies of bills as well as committee reports, testimony and bill status.   Bills the from previous Legislative Session can also be found on this website.

 

How Can I Get Notified of Upcoming Hearings?
Access the Hawaii State Legislature's website to sign up to receive hearing notices from both the Senate and the House Committees.  Once registered, you will be able to create personalized measure tracking lists, submit testimony online, and receive hearing notice notification by e-mail.

 

Where Do I Submit Testimony?

The Committee Chair(s) asks that all testimony be delivered to their office at least 24 hours in advance of the scheduled public hearing.  Testimony can be submitted online, however you must register for an account on the Legislative Website.  After signing in to your account you will be able to submit testimony online. For additional options for submitting testimony, please refer to the hearing notice.
 
When Are the 2023 Legislative Deadlines?

 The Senate President and the Speaker of the House of Representatives jointly approved a legislative time table. Some of the terminology used may be a bit confusing as there are many deadlines that the legislature must meet in order for a bill to pass. If a bill does not meet the deadline it is considered dead. 

 

Where Do I Park?

There are limited metered parking stalls in the basement of the State Capitol, on the grounds of the Iolani Palace and along King and Punchbowl streets. Municipal Public Parking is also available at Alii Place (1099 Alakea Street).
